It is with great pride that I welcome you to the Faculty of Basic Science at AKS University, Satna. The faculty comprises three core departments: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Each department is devoted to fostering academic excellence, cutting-edge research, and holistic student development. The Faculty of Basic Science offers comprehensive academic programs B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in all three disciplines. The curricula of these programs are designed in accordance with the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) framework and implemented under the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS), in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This modern approach ensures that students are equipped with in-depth subject knowledge, critical thinking skills, and strong research competencies.
The Department of Chemistry is equipped with advanced infrastructure that supports both teaching and high-impact research. It proudly hosts the Centre for Green Chemistry and Sustainability, a hub for interdisciplinary collaboration within the university and with nearby institutions. This center is actively engaged in eco-friendly paint development and sustainable product innovations. The department has achieved significant milestones, with Seven Ph.D. degrees awarded, Five patents published, three patents granted, and one technology transfer, reflecting its dynamic and innovative research environment.
The Department of Physics also boasts strong academic and research foundations, with two Ph.D. degrees awarded and well-equipped laboratories and classrooms that nurture scientific inquiry. The Department of Mathematics offers a rigorous academic framework that empowers students with strong analytical and problem-solving skills at all levels of study.
Our faculty emphasizes modern teaching practices by incorporating ICT-enabled classrooms that enhance interactive and effective learning experiences. We regularly conduct Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE) using rubric-based assessments to ensure transparent and structured evaluation of student performance. The teaching-learning process is guided by Bloom’s taxonomy, and our examination and grading system is aligned with clearly defined learning outcomes.
We take pride in our students’ accomplishments. Several have received INSPIRE Fellowships, and one student has qualified the CSIR-NET in Chemical Science. Many of our graduates have secured placements in reputed cement, pharmaceutical, and other scientific industries, highlighting the practical relevance and strength of our academic programs.
