About

The department of Chemistry proudly hosts the Centre for Green Chemistry and Sustainability, a pioneering initiative dedicated to addressing pressing environmental challenges through innovative chemical science solutions. This center fosters interdisciplinary collaborations within AKS University and builds partnerships with renowned institutions, organizations, and NGOs on both national and international fronts, driving sustainable advancements for a better future.
Centre for Green Chemistry and Sustainability is also work as Madhya Pradesh Chapter of Green Chemistry Network Centre, Delhi established by Prof. R.K. Sharma by collaboration of American scientist Prof. Paul Anastas and Prof. John C. Warner. Prof. Paul Anastas, often called the “father of green chemistry.” Paul Anastas is a renowned American chemist known for his pioneering work in developing environmentally friendly chemical processes. Prof.John C. Warner is a well-known chemist recognized for co-authoring the 12 Principles of Green Chemistry alongside Paul Anastas. His work has significantly shaped the field of sustainable and environmentally friendly chemistry

Research Activities and Product Development

Plastic Waste Utilization

1. Manufacturing of hydrocarbon oil from plastic waste which is being utilized in paint production

2. Manufacturing bricks for building construction using plastic waste, sand, fly ash, and coke is currently in the research and development (R&D) stage using the above-mentioned machine.

3. Manufacturing of Nigh Glowing Emulsion Paint
(A newer utilization of colorless hydrocarbon oil obtained from plastic waste)

Utilization of Bio-Waste
Manufacturing of Green Distemper Paint, Emulsion Paint, Night Glowing Paint and Wall Putty We are manufacturing green distemper paint by utilizing fallen leaves from plants
• This paint is free from toxic heavy metal
• Cost effective
• Eco-friendly
• High durability
Green Synthesis of Hydrogels
Arsenic Removal Assembly from Drinking Water
We have developed an assembly for removal of arsenic from drinking water and published patent of this assembly.

Development of New Green Method for Synthesis of Organic/ Inorganic Compounds
