Chemistry Research Laboratory (CRL)
The Chemistry Research Laboratory (CRL) functions as a dedicated hub for experimental and applied chemical research under the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Basic Science. It provides well-equipped facilities to support undergraduate and postgraduate students in executing academic research projects. These projects are conducted under the mentorship of internal faculty members and external domain experts, ensuring a multidisciplinary and research-driven learning environment.
Key Research Areas:
• Water Quality Analysis : Assessment of physicochemical parameters and pollutant profiling.
• Corrosion Inhibition Studies : Development and testing of eco-friendly corrosion inhibitors.
• Bioactivity Screening: Evaluation of antimicrobial and antioxidant potential of plant extracts.
• Soil Characterization: Analysis of nutrient composition, pH, and heavy metal content in soils.
• Isolation of Essential Oils: Extraction and characterization of volatile compounds from aromatic plants.
• Organic Synthesis: Design and synthesis of novel organic compounds for academic and industrial relevance.
• Inorganic and Metal Complex Synthesis: Preparation and study of coordination compounds with potential applications.
• Solid Waste Management: Investigation of chemical treatments and valorization of organic waste.
• Food Analysis: Detection of contaminants, nutrient profiling, and quality assessment of food samples.
CRL fosters innovation and practical learning aligned with current scientific and industrial trends, contributing to the holistic development of future chemists.
